Printing

Overview

Managed BJU computers are able to print to a large number of printers which are conveniently placed in many different locations across campus. You can also print to a variety of printers from your personal devices. Look for printers that have an ID card scanner.

BJU-Owned Computers

In most cases, the printers you need will be set up at the time your computer is deployed. If you do not see the printer you need, you can add it following the steps below.

Installing a printer on your computer

Please follow the steps below to set up a new printer on a Windows computer. (These instructions are for Windows 11 but are similar if your computer is still on Windows 10.) If you have any questions, would like assistance with this process, or if this process is not working as expected please call IT Support at x3880 or enter a ticket.

  1. Click on the folder icon at the bottom of your screen, or search for and open File Explorer.
  2. Type \\bju-printers in the navigation bar at the top of the File Explorer window and press Enter.
  3. Scroll through the alphabetized list of printers until you find the one you wish to print to (or use the Search box at the top right of the window).
  4. Right-click on the desired printer and click Connect.
  5. Wait a few seconds for setup to complete - you may close the File Explorer window.
  6. If you don't see the printer listed as an option when trying to print, close the program (Word, Outlook, etc.) and open it again.

Removing a printer from your computer

  1. In the Search box in the taskbar at the bottom of your computer screen, type “Printers.”
  2. In the “Best Match” list that appears, click “Printers & scanners.”
  3. Click the printer you wish to remove.
  4. At the top right of the window, click “Remove.” (Windows 10 users should see a "Remove device" button just below the printer name.)
