Accessing Files in a Web Browser
BJU File Access allows you to access your network drives on the Web from almost anywhere!
Accessing the BJU Network Using VPN
GlobalProtect VPN App
The GlobalProtect app provides secure access to BJU network services and the internet through a virtual private network (VPN). It’s the best way to access network resources when you are working from home or other-off campus. The app is already installed on BJU-issued computers and should run automatically.
The app is available for download and installation on Windows and Mac computers as well as both iOS and Android mobile devices. The Linux version is no longer supported by IT. Click the links below for instructions on how to download, install, and use the app.
Important! Users should use the GlobalProtect app on all devices rather than manually configure VPN settings.
VPN Issues
If VPN is not working properly, try the following.
- Reboot your computer.
- Are you running a filter (SafeEyes, K9)? Filters often will not let internet access through if VPN is connected. See if disabling the filter resolves the problem.
- Did you change internet service providers? Some internet providers need a slightly different setting than normal. If you have not changed, or the change does not match the time that VPN stopped working, it is most likely not the problem. Visit the IT Support Center (AL 207) for assistance.
- Does VPN connect but not display any webpages? Check the proxy settings of your web browser. The browser should be set to automatically detect proxy settings.
- If you have a different computer at home, try installing VPN on it to see if the problem may be related to the specific computer.
- If you still have trouble, visit the IT Support Center in AL 207.
