Overview
Managed BJU devices that are capable of connecting to wireless internet are configured to automatically connect to BJU Wi-Fi networks. These devices can also be connected to other networks such as home or hotel internet as required. If you wish to connect a personal device to the BJU Wi-Fi network, you need to manually configure the device, connect to the network, and then register the device at nsapp.bju.edu. If you are connecting a device in the residence halls, you should follow the instructions for connecting to the MyResNet network by Apogee.
Connecting BJU-Owned Devices
Managed BJU devices that are capable of connecting to Wi-Fi are configured to automatically connect to BJU Wi-Fi. If your wireless connection to a BJU network is not working as expected or if you are unsure of whether your device can connect to Wi-Fi, please contact IT by submitting a ticket or call IT Support at x3880 M-F, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Connecting Personal Devices
To connect your personal device to the BJU Wi-Fi network, click here and follow the instructions for your device type. For additional assistance, visit IT Support Center walk-in services in AL 207 or FA 144.
BJU-Owned Devices on Other Networks
Connecting to other Wi-Fi Networks
- Click the Wi-Fi icon on your computer.
- Click the desired wireless network connection.
- Click "Connect"
- Enter credentials if prompted or follow directions for public Wi-Fi connections (provided by the hotel, café, etc.).
Troubleshooting Home Wi-Fi
Home Wi-Fi connections can occasionally be difficult or slow. Please try the troubleshooting steps listed below before contacting IT.
- Restart your computer.
- Restart/reset your wireless router.
- Check to see if any of your personal devices are having similar connection issues.
- If your connection is slow, try disconnecting other devices from your home internet.
Troubleshooting Hotel/Café Wi-Fi
Hotel Wi-Fi connections can occasionally be difficult. Please try the troubleshooting steps listed below before contacting IT.
Note: To maintain information security, please be sure to use Global Protect VPN when using a BJU device for business while connected to a public internet connection.
- Restart your computer.
- Re-check the hotel/café connection directions.
- Try a different browser to get through any Wireless User Agreement page (both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge are available on all University devices).
- If the Wireless User Agreement page won't load, try navigating to www.msftncsi.com/ncsi.txt on an affected PC, or captive.apple.com on an affected Mac.
