Steps to report a suspicious email to the Phishing Report system

If you receive an unexpected or malicious email with attachments or links that you’re unsure about, report it to the IT department with the “Phish Alert Report” button in Microsoft Outlook.

 

1.    Find the “Phish Alert” Button

Microsoft Outlook Desktop App

If you’re using the Microsoft Outlook app on your computer, select the suspect email message. The “Phish Alert Report” button is near the top of the screen.

Outlook Online

If you’re using Outlook webmail in a browser, select the suspect email message. In the top-right of the email message, click on the three dots. The “Phish Alert” button is in the menu that appears.

Outlook Mobile App
(Interface may vary by device)

If you’re using the Outlook mobile app, open the suspect email message. Tap the action menu (three dots) at the top right of the message. The “Phish Alert” button is in the menu that appears.

2. Confirm the Alert

In the Phish Alert panel that appears, confirm that the information is correct, then click the “Phish Alert” button at the bottom.
