Instructions for Login after a Restart
- After a restart, you will see a different login screen with only a username and password field. This is the FileVault login screen. Only users that have logged in previously can unlock a Mac from the FileVault login screen.
- At the FileVault login screen, enter your username (jdoe, not jdoe@bju.edu) and your password.
- If you do not have access to unlock from FileVault, find another user that does or contact IT.
- After you log in, a progress bar will appear showing the progress of booting into MacOS.
- When you see the BJU login screen, follow the “First Time Login” instructions above.
Note: it is best practice to restart your Mac weekly. Locking (ctrl+cmd+Q) or logging out of your Mac is required when you leave your Mac unattended or at the end of the day.
